Mercedes-AMG unveils electric GT SUV with 1153 hp and 710 kW charging

Mercedes-AMG has officially unveiled the GT SUV, an all-electric performance vehicle designed to push the boundaries of high-end electric mobility. The vehicle combines aggressive styling with cutting-edge engineering to deliver an exceptional driving experience.

Under the hood, or rather beneath the floor, the SUV features three axial-flux motors that generate a staggering 1153 horsepower. This immense power output places the vehicle at the very pinnacle of electric performance crossovers currently in development.

In addition to its raw power, the model introduces groundbreaking charging technology, supporting DC fast charging at up to 710 kW. This capability drastically reduces downtime on long journeys by replenishing the battery at unprecedented speeds.

Positioned as AMG's direct answer to the Porsche Cayenne Electric, the GT SUV boasts specifications that may outshine its key competitor on paper. The first units are scheduled to arrive at US dealerships in the summer of 2027.

The introduction of such advanced electric flagships highlights the rapid pace of innovation in the automotive sector. As ultra-fast charging and high-output electric motors become the new benchmark, the future of performance driving continues to evolve globally.
