The iPhone 18 Pro: The best and final iteration of the current form factor
The iPhone 18 Pro could mark the end of an era for the design framework that first began with the iPhone X back in 2017.
There is a running joke that Apple always breathlessly announces each year's iPhone Pro as "the best iPhone we've ever made." However, there is a unique poignancy to the iPhone 18 Pro, as industry rumors suggest it might be the final device of its kind.
If reports about next year's hardware plans are accurate, the iPhone 18 Pro will serve as the concluding chapter for the physical form factor that originated back in 2017 with the introduction of the iPhone X.
Specifically, the industry is bracing for a massive shift toward the ultimate "single slab of glass" vision, effectively closing the curtain on a decade of steady, evolutionary design changes.
For tech enthusiasts and the broader mobile market, this transition highlights a major turning point. The iPhone 18 Pro stands as the ultimate, most refined version of a design language we have known for years before Apple pivots to a completely new era.
