Next year iPhone Pro redesign keeps cutout despite big changes
New leaks reveal that Apple's 20th anniversary iPhone Pro will feature a curved display, but the Dynamic Island cutout remains.

Apple is reportedly preparing a major redesign for next year's iPhone Pro models, timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the iPhone. However, the latest supply chain leaks indicate that the dream of a completely cutout-free display will not materialize just yet.
New leaks from Weibo regarding the anniversary lineup According to Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station, Apple is working on multiple devices for early 2027, including the iPhone 18e, iPhone 18, and iPhone Air 2. The leak also shed light on the high-end Pro models slated for next fall. Earlier rumors suggested that the anniversary device would feature a quad-curved display wrapping around the edges for a bezel-free appearance. Some reports even hinted at the elimination of the Dynamic Island for an all-glass look.
Why the Dynamic Island cutout is here to stay When directly asked if the anniversary iPhone Pro Max will feature a hole-free display, the leaker confirmed that holes will still be present in the screen. Consequently, the device will retain the familiar Dynamic Island cutout. Given that the phone is expected to rely on Face ID for secure authentication, retaining the cutout is a technical necessity. It remains unconfirmed whether the dimensions of the Dynamic Island will shrink compared to the iPhone 18 Pro.
What this means for tech enthusiasts and the market For consumers and tech analysts, this update tempers expectations for a radically futuristic front panel design. While the curved edges will deliver a fresh aesthetic, the functional cutout will continue to be a staple of Apple's flagship smartphone interface.
