Walmart is finally adding Apple Pay and Google Pay

Retail giant Walmart has officially announced that it will soon allow customers to pay for their items using popular mobile payment services Google Pay and Apple Pay.

According to the company's announcement on Friday, tap-to-pay capabilities will roll out to select Walmart and Sam's Club locations starting August 24th.

The phased rollout will then expand support to all remaining US stores and gas stations by the end of 2026, marking a significant shift in the retailer's payment strategy.

This move highlights the ongoing industry-wide transition toward mobile wallets and contactless checkout experiences, providing greater flexibility for consumers.
