Getting some extra storage space on your Mac has become much easier thanks to a new open-source command line tool called RemoveMacAI, which targets Apple's built-in artificial intelligence features.

Previously, users could rely on a single Settings toggle to disable Apple Intelligence, but that option was eventually removed in newer macOS iterations. Consequently, the heavy AI models remained permanently on the disk whether the user wanted them or not.

According to reports from The Verge, utilizing this utility can free up approximately 12 gigabytes of storage space by wiping out the leftover Apple Intelligence data that standard system settings no longer allow users to easily manage.

For power users and tech enthusiasts managing devices with limited SSD storage, such open-source solutions provide essential control over system resources. Eliminating unwanted AI bloatware helps optimize performance and reclaim valuable gigabytes on modern workstations.
