WhatsApp may soon let iPhone users open any link in an in-app browser
Following limited business link support last year, WhatsApp is expanding its in-app browser capabilities to all chat links for iOS users.

After introducing limited in-app browser support for certain business links last year, WhatsApp is now taking a step further to improve user experience. The platform is currently working on expanding this feature so that iPhone users can open any link shared in chats directly within the app.
At present, tapping on various web links usually redirects users to Safari or other external browsers installed on their devices. The upcoming in-app browser feature aims to keep users within the messaging environment for a smoother and faster web browsing experience.
This enhancement is designed to save time and reduce friction caused by constantly switching between different applications. It streamlines the workflow of reading shared articles, checking web pages, and immediately returning to ongoing conversations.
While the feature is still in development and an exact release date has not been officially announced yet, it represents a logical step in WhatsApp's ongoing efforts to refine its iOS app interface and functionality.
For the global tech audience and mobile-first regions, such incremental updates significantly boost daily productivity. Seamless navigation within messaging apps continues to be a major trend in modern mobile software design.
