WordPress.com targets the next generation of web creators with a free student plan
The new educational initiative lets teachers offer their students free domains, plugin support, and professional website-building tools.
Popular web platform WordPress.com has announced a dedicated free plan aimed at empowering the next generation of web creators and students.
According to TechCrunch, the new initiative called WordPress.com Education allows educators to provide their students with free domain names, plugin support, and professional website-building tools.
This move is designed to foster digital skills among young learners, giving them the opportunity to build personal blogs, portfolios, and class projects without encountering financial barriers.
As digital education and tech literacy continue to grow globally, including in emerging markets, such accessible tools provide an excellent foundation for schools and students to experiment with web technologies.
By bridging the gap between theory and practice, this program equips students with hands-on web development experience that will benefit them in their future professional endeavors.
