Hackers exploit new MikroTik RouterOS flaws to hijack routers
Cybercriminals are exploiting a chain of two recently disclosed vulnerabilities in MikroTik routers with exposed SSH services.

Hackers are actively exploiting a chain of two recently disclosed vulnerabilities affecting MikroTik routers to take control of vulnerable devices. According to BleepingComputer, the attacks target devices that have their SSH services exposed directly to the internet.
By chaining these security flaws, malicious actors can bypass protections and hijack the routers, gaining unauthorized access to network infrastructure. Such exploits highlight the ongoing risks associated with misconfigured or outdated network hardware.
MikroTik devices are widely deployed across enterprises, service providers, and home networks, making this campaign a significant concern for network security globally.
Administrators are strongly advised to update their RouterOS firmware immediately to mitigate the risks. Security experts also recommend disabling or restricting external SSH access from the internet to prevent potential compromises.
