Apple’s camera-equipped AirPods appear in leaked video
A leaked video found in macOS Tahoe 26.7 offers our first potential look at Apple's rumored camera-equipped AirPods.
Apple may be bringing a camera to its iconic wireless earbuds, as suggested by a short video clip recently brought to light. The footage was discovered by MacRumors within the Release Candidate build of macOS Tahoe 26.7, sparking immediate curiosity among tech enthusiasts.
The leaked video features a man wearing the unreleased AirPods while holding up a book with its cover displayed. This action appears designed to allow the device's Visual Intelligence feature to scan and interact with the physical item in real time.
Integrating a camera into AirPods represents a major step forward in wearable technology, merging spatial audio and smart computing with computer vision. Such a device could potentially recognize everyday objects, provide context, and assist users seamlessly throughout their day.
While Apple has not yet officially confirmed the development or existence of camera-equipped earbuds, code and assets discovered in software updates often hint at upcoming hardware projects. This points toward a future where hearables double as smart visual assistants.
For the global tech community and markets in regions like Central Asia and beyond, these developments signal the steady convergence of AI and everyday hardware. As Apple pushes the boundaries of wearable tech, consumers can anticipate a shift toward more intuitive and visually aware smart devices.
