Red Magic 12 Pro teardown: AquaCore 3.0 cooling and durability test
JerryRigEverything disassembled the Red Magic 12 Pro gaming flagship, revealing its unique liquid-air cooling system and incredible durability.

Famous YouTuber and tech reviewer Zack Nelson, known for the JerryRigEverything channel, has torn down the new Red Magic 12 Pro gaming flagship. The smartphone instantly caught attention due to its complex internal architecture and advanced engineering solutions designed to handle extreme workloads during prolonged gaming sessions.
- YouTuber Zack Nelson took apart the Red Magic 12 Pro and tested its durability.
- The device features a unique AquaCore 3.0 cooling system with a miniature pump and a fan spinning at up to 25,500 RPM.
- Under the hood lies the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor and a massive 8,400 mAh battery.
- The gadget successfully passed bend and flame tests without sustaining serious structural damage.
Unique AquaCore 3.0 Cooling System
The main highlight of the new smartphone is its advanced AquaCore 3.0 cooling system. The manufacturer claims an 85% increase in cooling efficiency compared to the previous generation. The setup combines two liquid cooling loops with active processor cooling. A miniature electric pump is built inside to circulate a special coolant through a network of tubes running around the processor and air channel.
To further dissipate heat, a built-in centrifugal fan is included, capable of spinning at up to 25,500 RPM. Air enters through specialized openings in the housing and flows through an internal channel to cool the device components. While the smartphone is water-resistant to IP68 and IP69 standards, the air channel itself holds an IPX8 rating and features mesh filters and rubber seals to prevent large debris and moisture from reaching the electronics.

At the core of the Red Magic 12 Pro is the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. To aid with heat management, a vapor chamber and metal elements connected to the cooling system are also utilized. The smartphone is equipped with a gorgeous 6.85-inch AMOLED display featuring a 1.5K resolution and a high 185 Hz refresh rate.
The screen is entirely notch-free and punch-hole-free, as the 16-megapixel selfie camera is neatly hidden underneath the display panel. The main and ultra-wide cameras both feature 50 MP sensors, with the primary module equipped with optical image stabilization. For mobile gamers, the device includes responsive shoulder triggers with a 520 Hz polling rate and stereo speakers.
Battery Life and Durability Testing
Power is supplied by a massive 8,400 mAh battery supporting 80W wired charging. Additionally, the smartphone can wirelessly charge other devices at up to 22.5W. Biometric security is handled by a fast ultrasonic fingerprint scanner embedded beneath the display glass.
At the end of the video, Zack Nelson performed his signature durability tests. The Red Magic 12 Pro demonstrated impressive mechanical strength, successfully withstanding the bend test and direct exposure to an open flame on the screen without suffering critical damage or losing component functionality.
