Lucid’s 25,000 Bolt robotaxis to run on Nvidia’s self-driving software

Lucid's European robotaxi initiative has reached a major milestone as the partnership structure becomes fully defined. Bolt has officially announced that its planned fleet of at least 25,000 autonomous Lucid vehicles will be powered by Nvidia’s advanced Alpamayo Stack self-driving software.

The ambitious program is scheduled to kick off in Madrid in 2027 with an initial data-collection phase. This foundational step will allow the companies to gather critical real-world driving data and refine their autonomous navigation systems before a broader commercial rollout in urban European environments.

This new agreement gives Lucid two distinct robotaxi customers utilizing two different autonomy architectures. While the company provides Nuro’s software for Uber’s Gravity robotaxis in the United States, it is now turning to Nvidia's robust tech stack for Bolt’s European fleet operations.

Such major industry alliances highlight the accelerating convergence of electric vehicle manufacturing and high-performance artificial intelligence computing. The integration of specialized hardware and software platforms is becoming essential for scaling safe and reliable autonomous transport solutions globally.

For the broader tech and automotive community, tracking these high-profile deployments provides valuable insights into the commercialization timeline of driverless vehicles. As autonomous ecosystems mature in Western markets, they pave the way for long-term advancements in global smart mobility infrastructure.
