Apple released the first watchOS 27.3 beta for developers, introducing Siri Recap and Live Rewind Audio Intelligence features.

Apple has released the first beta of watchOS 27.3 for developers, bringing two major Audio Intelligence features to Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. These updates aim to enhance daily interactions through advanced on-device intelligence.
- Release of watchOS 27.3 first developer beta.
- Introduction of Siri Recap and Live Rewind for Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4.
- Integration with the S11 chip and Secure Exclave hardware protection.
- End-to-end encryption and automatic deletion of summaries after 7 days.
Siri Recap overview and setup Siri Recap creates high-level summaries of conversations that you can review later using Apple Intelligence. When enabled, the system automatically generates a title and key points that you can check in the Siri app on iPhone, helping you stay present while ensuring details are captured. You can enable Siri Recap in the Watch app on iPhone, setting schedules based on time or location, or toggling it manually via Control Center. Unsaved summaries automatically delete after 7 days to maintain user privacy and optimize device storage.
Live Rewind feature details Live Rewind helps you recall what was just said in a conversation by displaying a transcript of the previous 15 seconds. Users can activate it simply by double-pressing the Digital Crown on their Apple Watch to catch missed information. You can ask Siri about the snippet or save it directly to the Siri app. Apple ensures transparency by playing an audible chime whenever Live Rewind is used, even if the Apple Watch is set to silent mode.
Privacy and security architecture Apple emphasizes that privacy is built into these Audio Intelligence features from the ground up. Neither Siri Recap nor Live Rewind identifies or attributes speakers, and Siri Recap explicitly excludes sensitive data like financial records or government identifiers. The features do not create or store audio recordings. Raw audio processing is handled entirely within the S11 chip's Secure Exclave—a dedicated hardware-isolated compartment—and is immediately deleted. All text snippets and summaries are end-to-end encrypted and remain completely inaccessible to Apple or third-party apps.
