Xiaomi humanoid robots complete 8-hour shift at auto factory
Xiaomi humanoid robot successfully passed an 8-hour test at a car factory, autonomously sorting parts and fixing errors.

Xiaomi's humanoid robot has successfully passed a rigorous eight-hour test at an automotive manufacturing plant, handling parts sorting autonomously. Lu Weibing reported that the machine coped with a full day shift workload without human intervention.
- Successfully completed an 8-hour shift at a car plant.
- Autonomously sorted center console side panels.
- Automatically corrected errors during the assembly process.
- Domestic version tested in Xiaomi Youth Apartments.
Manufacturing Milestones and Testing
During the recent test, the humanoid robot was tasked with sorting center console side panels. According to company executives, the machine handled the workload equivalent to a full human day shift. Throughout the test, the robot demonstrated advanced capabilities by autonomously correcting occurring errors and interacting smoothly with the active production line.
Xiaomi has been training its robots for factory environments since early 2026. Back in March, a robot operated autonomously for three hours at a self-tapping nut installation station in the foundry workshop, achieving a 90.2% success rate for simultaneous installation and meeting the fastest production cycle requirement by completing the operation in just 76 seconds.

Concurrently, Xiaomi is developing another robotic system based on the Xiaomi-Robotics-1 model tailored for household tasks. This system is currently undergoing trials in living spaces at the Xiaomi Youth Apartments complex.
The domestic setup is already capable of executing more than 50 consecutive actions across three different rooms over a period exceeding 30 minutes. This expansion highlights the versatility of Xiaomi's robotics ecosystem moving from heavy industry into everyday environments.
Implications for Industry and Automation
The successful deployment of humanoid robots in real factory conditions marks a significant step forward for industrial automation and manufacturing efficiency. For businesses, adopting such autonomous systems points toward a future of reduced manual labor bottlenecks, improved assembly line speeds, and enhanced technological integration in modern factories.
