YouTube Playables adds 24 accessibility tags for browser games
YouTube Playables has introduced 24 accessibility tags divided into three categories to help players easily find suitable games.

YouTube has improved its Playables section by introducing 24 accessibility tags for games. These additions are split into three distinct categories to help users understand what to expect from each title.
- 24 new accessibility tags added to YouTube Playables.
- Tags divided into three categories: control, audio-visual, and gameplay.
- Developed in collaboration with the Accessible Games Initiative (ESA).
Accessibility Tag Categories
All new tags are divided into three major groups: "Control and Input", "Audio-visual Parameters", and "Gameplay Settings". Each label gives the player a clear representation of what to expect from a game before they even launch it.
For instance, control tags indicate whether a game supports keyboard-only input or allows button remapping. Audio-visual tags inform players if a title supports mono or surround sound, screen shake toggles, and other accessibility options.

According to YouTube, these tags are the result of collaboration with leading members of the Accessible Games Initiative. This movement was created by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) with companies like EA, Microsoft, Sony, and YouTube.
The goal of the initiative is to develop a standardized, industry-wide language for describing game accessibility. This is achieved through specific tags on game pages to help players determine if a game fits their needs.
