BYD Denza N8 electric SUV with 1,000 km range launches next week

BYD's luxury division, Denza, has officially confirmed the launch date for its highly anticipated five-seat electric SUV, the Denza N8. Following a strong response to pre-orders, the flagship vehicle is set to make its official market debut next week.

  • The official launch event for the Denza N8 EV is scheduled for November 12, 2026;
  • Offers an impressive CLTC driving range of up to 1,003 km on a single charge;
  • Equipped with second-generation Blade Batteries and Flash Charging technology to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 5 minutes;
  • Available in single-motor RWD or a tri-motor AWD setup delivering up to 1,193 horsepower.

Performance and Powertrain Options

Measuring 5,150 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,820 mm high with a 3,075 mm wheelbase, the Denza N8 is slightly longer than large competitors like the Kia EV9 and Hyundai IONIQ 9. Buyers can choose between a rear-wheel-drive configuration with up to 370 kW or a high-performance tri-motor all-wheel-drive system built on BYD’s e3 platform, pushing a combined output of 890 kW (1,193 hp).

The vehicle utilizes either a 105.79 kWh or a massive 130.15 kWh BYD Blade 2.0 battery pack. The largest battery option enables the vehicle to achieve its headline 1,003 km CLTC range. Furthermore, the updated Flash Charging architecture cuts down charging friction drastically, allowing the SUV to go from 10% to 80% in a mere five minutes and reach 97% in nine minutes.

Interior Luxury and Smart Tech

Inside the cabin, the five-seat layout focuses heavily on premium comfort and digital integration. A massive 30-inch infotainment display spans across the passenger-side dashboard, complemented by a 43-inch panoramic head-up display (PHUD) positioned along the windshield. Additional luxury touches include zero-gravity seating across all rows, wireless phone charging pads, and ambient cabin lighting.

For intelligent driving, the Denza N8 features a roof-mounted LiDAR sensor supporting BYD’s God’s Eye 5.0 advanced driver-assistance system, alongside the DiSus-A intelligent air suspension. While pricing details remain unannounced, industry watchers expect it to sit just below the extended N8L variant which starts around 299,800 RMB.

Market Implications and Outlook

The introduction of the Denza N8 EV reinforces BYD’s dominance in the luxury electric vehicle sector by addressing core consumer needs like extended range and rapid refueling. As the EV landscape continues its rapid global transformation, high-performance models equipped with next-generation solid-state or advanced blade battery tech set a new benchmark for premium utility vehicles worldwide.
