AT&T's Connected Life smart security system integrates with Gemini for Home, bringing event summaries, natural language video search, and AI features.

AT&T has announced that its Connected Life smart home security system now integrates with Gemini for Home. The company states that Connected Life is the first home security product to integrate with Google Home Premium, unlocking a suite of Gemini-powered features designed to summarize home events and search video history.
- Integration of Gemini for Home into AT&T Connected Life
- Detailed event descriptions and natural language video footage search
- Automatic arming and disarming based on user proximity
- Available exclusively with the $29.99/month professional plan
Advanced AI Capabilities with Gemini
With this update, Gemini for Home provides descriptive insights into events captured by security cameras, such as identifying who delivered a package and the number of items dropped off. Users can also search recorded video archives using natural language queries like 'What dug up the yard last night?' or 'Who let the dogs out?'.
Additionally, the system generates daily activity summaries for both inside and outside the home. Google Home's Gemini AI can now utilize camera feeds to trigger smart automations and handle complex requests from users.

These new features are exclusively available through AT&T’s professional Connected Life monitoring plan, priced at $29.99 per month. Furthermore, AT&T is introducing functionality that automatically arms or disarms the home security system based on the user's proximity.
AT&T originally launched its Connected Life system last December in partnership with Google and Abode. The system now leverages Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs, allowing developers and brands to build AI-driven features into their ecosystems. ADT has also hinted at incorporating Gemini for Home features into its security setups.
What This Means for Smart Home Security
The integration of generative AI into home security signifies a shift from basic motion alerts to intelligent monitoring hubs. For consumers, it transforms how they interact with home footage, replacing tedious manual video reviews with quick conversational searches and automated insights.
