Raycast introduces new Dictate to AI feature combining voice and screen context
Raycast has released a major update combining voice dictation and screen awareness to let users talk to AI about active windows seamlessly.

Popular productivity launcher Raycast has rolled out an update that merges voice dictation with screen context awareness, allowing users to speak directly to artificial intelligence about whatever is currently displayed on their screen.
- The new Dictate to AI command links spoken requests with active app content automatically.
- A menu bar command on Mac tracks AI usage directly from settings.
- Raycast Notes now supports images and offers unlimited notes for free users.
- The iOS app received a dedicated keyboard with AI-powered writing tools.
Voice Dictation Meets Screen Awareness Following the release of Screen Awareness last August, which allowed users to bring context from active apps into AI Chat without manual screenshots, Raycast has taken the functionality a step further. The new Dictate to AI command lets individuals speak their requests while the system automatically reads the active screen. According to Pedro Duarte from the Raycast team, the update also introduces a Dictation AI extension to manage transcription styles and get feedback. Additionally, a new Contacts AI extension lets users search, create, update, and delete contacts directly from AI Chat.
Performance Improvements on Mac and Windows Alongside voice capabilities, Raycast Notes has been upgraded to support images and provide unlimited notes for free users. The Mac desktop application received several performance enhancements, resulting in faster search speeds and lower memory usage. Windows users also received updates to Screen Awareness, gaining new commands to send individual UI elements or entire windows directly to AI Chat for contextual assistance.
iOS Enhancements and Ecosystem Value The iOS mobile app was updated with a new keyboard featuring AI-powered writing assistance tools, alongside improved Cloud Sync capabilities. These cross-platform updates make Raycast an even more powerful tool for developers and professionals looking to streamline their daily workflows.
